Perhaps we all want to see John Wayne either as the greatest American cowboy, or fighting WW II single handed. But he did other things as well. "Big Jim McLain" (1952) is an extremely controversial film, made to appease the witch hunt that was the House of Un-American Activities. This is Wayne's hero screen worn modern sports coat from this film.
