The Bowery Wallace Beery Army Jacket

After the massive success of "The Champ" (1931), Wallace Beery and child actor Jackie Cooper were teamed up to make more films together. One of the most successful was "The Bowery" (1933). A hard edged film of about those that live on the mean streets of New York, it also starred George Raft, as Beery's enemy and final friend. In the end of the movie they both join the army! This is Beery's hero Army Uniform jacket. The original label inside reads "Wallace Beery". (Note the jacket was "promoted" since it was used by Berry with four bars on the sleeve, obviously having been used in other films subsequently, and even shows a small augmentation to once being a French uniform!).
