A fully functioning Mark VII Medical Tricorder featured in Star Trek: The Next Generation and believed to be re-used in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. This is the seventh incarnation of the Tricorder, a hand-held scanning device used by members of Starfleet. This particular Tricorder is a medical version, and features a detachable hand scanner. This item is made from two sections of vacu-formed plastic, with detailed graphics on the main body and opening door. The main unit and the hand scanner both feature functioning electronics in the form of sequencing lights, and is powered by a removable J-cell battery. This very rare item remains in excellent condition, with slight wear from use on set. From the collection of Joe Longo.
