Provenance

Taken by Propworx staff directly from The Bridge Studios, where MGM’s Stargate series were produced.

Center portion of the iris seen in countless episodes of Stargate SG-1. This iris was created to prevent uninvited incoming travelers from entering Stargate Command. When deployed, any object traveling through the gate would be destroyed at the molecular level before it was reformed into solid matter. Radio signals and certain focused particle beams were the only things which could breach the iris.
