Production used Mars Mission Headset. Made from a modified Body Glove headset this piece features a flexible ear strap with long microphone tip and adjustable earpiece for left or right side use. Measures 4.5in × 3in.

Received directly from the production of Defying Gravity.
This mars headset can be seen being used by the crew of the Mars 40-42 mission. These headsets let the crew stay in contact with mission control without having restraining cords attached to them. The Antares mission used updated versions of these headsets.
