Stargate Atlantis Rodney McKay Uniform

Production made black cotton ripstop bomber jacket with zip-up front, Velcro panels on both sleeves and one on chest, Atlantis patch on the right sleeve, Canadian flag patch on the left sleeve, patches attached with Velcro, and ribbed knit cuffs, no size information is available, jacket is heavily distressed by production with white paint, a 5in tear on the left elbow, and a 4in tear in the left armpit, production marked “MCKAY SEPT/07” inside left belly pocket. Black cotton t-shirt, production has sewn a small pocket inside on the chest, size M/M, manufactured in Israel by Calvin Klein.

Taken by Propworx staff directly from The Bridge Studios, where MGM’s Stargate series were produced.

Uniform worn by actor David Hewlett as “Rodney McKay” in the Stargate Atlantis Season Five premiere, “Search and Rescue”. McKay began working for the Stargate program remotely from Area 51, called in to put out fires at Stargate Command as needed. He was an obvious choice to lead the science team of the Atlantis expedition, and his knowledge of Ancient technology also played a key role in Sheppard’s unit.
