Asteroid Filming Miniature

Production-made foam and resin painted gray and weathered to look like stone. Mounted on a metal pole for filming. Asteroid measures 10" x 13", with pole length is 31" in length.

This asteroid was used in a special effects shot for the episode "Destiny" in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Sisko and Kira used the Defiant to protect three fragments with a force field from reacting with the wormhole during their return to the DS9 station. This was the fragment directly under the Defiant. Foam and resin painted gray and weathered to look like stone. Mounted on a metal pole for filming. Asteroid measures 10" x 13". With pole measures 31" in length. From the collection of Doug Drexler.
