BSG Props Cylon Raider Filming Standee

BSG Props Cylon Raider Filming Standee

Color printed image created from the art department. Mounted on foam core. Standee is worn from usage and has sustained “battle damage” to the top half (the left wing was broken off during production and is in need of repair). Two black handles protrude from the bottom to support the standee. Wear and tear from production use has caused damage to the wing tips. Measures 87.25 x 65.25.

Provenance

Taken directly from the set of the NBC/Universal production, Battlestar Galactica, by Propworx staff.

Scaled down standee of a modern-era Cylon Raider. (Called “Sparrow” in Colonial military jargon.) Although radically redesigned from its 1970’s counterpart, it still resembled a giant flying wing. This standee provided an “eye line” for actors in Viper or Raptor scenes to envision a Raider that would later be inserted in post production, using computer-generated images.
