Battlestar Galactica Portia King Outfit
This outfit is worn by Portia King in Season 3’s “The Woman King.” Ms. King is the mother of Willie King, who comes down with the Mellorak Infection. While not a believer in medicine, as a majority of Sagittarons such as herself view it as an “abomination of the Gods,” King places her trust in Doctor Michael Robert to cure her son. Sadly, Robert betrays the “do no harm” creed of any self-respecting Colonial doctor, and instead murders her son, prompting her to solicit help from Karl “Helo” Agathon, who eventually proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Robert is a racist murderer. A four piece complete hero costume consisting of tank, blouse, long skirt, and cardigan sweater.
The tank is a black spaghetti strap with velvet and bead detail at the neck. Made by Zara, size medium.
The silk short sleeve blouse has a v-neck, no collar and shell style button. Made by Jones & Co., size 10.
The black long skirt with ankle-high hem is made by Jelly and size 14.
The cardigan is black, long and croquette knit with tie at the front. The labels have since been removed, but according to the costume continuity book from the Battlestar Galactica Costume Department, this cardigan was made by Planet.
This costume includes the black beaded small dangle earrings made by the company 1928, as well as black wedge-heel “Mary Jane” style shoes by Rockport. Shoe size is 7½ and feature dirtied soles.
