Two By Two Original Broadway Script

An extremely rare script for the Broadway musical "Two by Two" (1970) , with a book by Peter Stone, music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Martin Charnin. It was based on Clifford Odets's play "The Flowering Peach". It is the story of the great biblical flood, and of Noah's preparations for it. Noah was played by the legendary Danny Kaye. The musical became infamous for Kaye's throwing out large portions of the script and ad-libbing, which added to its box-office appeal as audiences came to see the play over and over again, just to see what Kaye would do next. Danny Kaye said his inspiration for this was watching Zero Mostel's nightly improvised performances on Broadway in "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum". Original scripts for Broadway plays, especially musicals are rare and collectable.
