Protocol Original Production Script

In the late 1970's and early 1980's, Oscar winner Goldie Hawn was riding high with a series of smash hit comedies. From 1984 came her version of "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington", with the highly acclaimed political comedy "Protocol". This is a rare original production shooting script (dated February 14th, 1984). It is from the personal collection of the film's Script Supervisor, the legendary Esther Vivante. This was her script, which she used before and during production as a "timing" script. Before production, the Script Supervisor goes through the script scene by scene, and then times each scene to give the production an idea of just how long each scene is going to be, which also gives them an idea of how long the completed film will be. This allows for changes and adjustments before the costly production starts. Timing Scripts are usually turned into the editorial department, so they are extremely rare. Also included is a Letter of Provenance from a family member.
