Who can ever forget the spectacular explosion of the Second Death Star at the end of "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi" (1983). To create this effect, the first order of business was to make it a 100 times more awe-inspiring than the first Death Star in the original "Star Wars". This task was given to the best Visual Effects craftsmen, including legendary ILM Special Effects Artist Kim Knowlton. This is Knowlton's actual original 35mm Effects Composite of the iconic classic final Death Star explosion, including the Death Star Laser effects. It comes from Kim Knowlton's personal collection and includes a Letter of Provenience from her.
