This is an original Whitman Publishing Company book of Disney's "The Wise Little Hen" (1935). It is not only a rare piece in itself, with beautiful color covers, color plates and ink reproductions inside, but it is also known for being the first appearance of Donald Duck (check out how different he looks from what he became!). With the original dust jacket. In good condition, with patina aging on the pages and some wear. The story is a take on the fable "The Little Red Hen", which became a cause célèbre during the 1950's McCarthy witch hunts, and brought a surprised and innocent Walt Disney an "invitation" to speak to the committee! (Book is 10"x9").
