Composite Artist's design-proposal maquette of layered proof-art (a photographic plate of the raw art without credits) and title-block layouts sandwiched inside 19" x 27" double mat (with 13" x 20" window opening) for what is widely considered the best poster design for this film, as well as the most rare in its completed version. This maquette is almost certainly unique (as there would be no purpose for multiples of the same design at this early stage in the campaign) and represents a remarkable brilliance in the artist's grasp of the magic and mystery of the opening scenes of this memorable Steven Spielberg film. Mat displays minor handling with age, but artwork area remains beautifully intact thanks to the original acetate overlay common to these maquettes.
