Larry Hagman Collection Benes Moths Artwork

Continuing his fascination with US currency as material for his artwork, New York artist Barton Lidice Benes created this mixed media collage entitled "Moths" (1984), in which we see moths seemly come to life from a dollar bill. The moths themselves are also made of money. This is from Larry Hagman's Fine Art Collection. Hagman had one of the largest collections of Benes art, and became a close personal friend. Approx 22”x 18 1/2”. Professionally appraised at $2,200.
