Tron Kodalith Cel

Before CGI, Hollywood used a great plethora of techniques to create their dazzling effects. One of the last "modern" effects movies to use old techniques, was "Tron" (1982). Ironically it was all about traveling inside computers, which had a world of their own. One of the coolest effects was the glowing costumes. This was accomplished by a technique called Kodalith, in which each frame was blown up, then animated, and then layered back over the "live" shot. This is a rare Kodalith cell from the movie (of David Warner), complete with the special "alignment" key holes. (Approx. 20" x 12")
