Elvis Presley Used Cigar stub with International Ashtray
Elvis Presley’s/Bobby Morris’s Glass Ashtray. This clear glass ashtray bears the logo of the Las Vegas Hilton (formerly The International) where Elvis Presley was the featured headliner during his residency from 1969 to 1976. It is is quite rare and illustrates the transition from The International Hotel to the Las Vegas Hilton, and bears both names. Colonel Parker kept this astray in his hotel suite, and once showed the ashtray to Presley while explaining to Presley the transition and name change of the resort. The black glass ashtray bearing the name of the International Hotel belonged to Bobby Morris, Presley’s musical conductor from the opening of the International Hotel in 1969 until 1970. While Presley was smoking a Tiparillo cigar in his hotel suite, he asked Morris to extinguish his cigar. Morris then carried the ashtray down to the hotel’s showroom, later displaying it proudly in his entertainment management agency office as a conversation piece. This incredible collection comes from Elvis Aaron Presley Jr., who was very close friends with Colonel Parker (Elvis Presley's longtime manager) for decades. He gifted many of these items to Elvis Aaron Presley Jr. These items have been maintained in Junior's collection for decades and now is the first opportunity for the general public and collectors to own his cherished collection.
Elvis Aaron Presley Jr. was managed by four of Elvis Presley Senior's managers, and was the biggest headliner in Las Vegas, earning over $25,000 per show.
