Rex Harrison Dr. Dolittle Bust

It's rare when an actor becomes famous for one iconic role, and even more amazing when they gather half a dozen such historic roles in a long and distinguished career. Such is the case of the Rex Harrison. We all know him as Henry Higgins in 'My Fair Lady", the "Ghost" in the "Ghost and Mrs. Muir" and perhaps his most beloved character, Dr. Dolittle. This is an absolutely stunning bust of Mr. Harrison created from his actual life mask, from his role as Dr. John Dolittle in the classic (1967) musical. The bust was obtained at the world famous Debbie Reynolds Auction from her private collection. It is truly one-of-a-kind and extraordinarily life-like. Made of special wax, fastidiously hand painted, with intricately detailed glass eyes and painstakingly hand stitched and punched human hair both on his head, eyebrows and side burns. This was made to represent his roll as Dr. Dolittle, with an exact reproduction of his hair style, and famous pointed long sideburns. It is professional mounted on a custom wood doweling. A true museum quality work of art! (Head with stand is approx 14"x 8"). Oversized item. Additional postage required.
