Affairs of Cellini Jack Rutherford Velvet Long Coa
A truly scandalous movie of it's time (1934) was "the Affairs of Cellini" about a free-spirit sculptor who seduces the Duchess of Florence (away from the Duke!). Trying to keep order was the Captain of the Guard's played by Jack Rutherford. This is his hero screen used long red velvet cloak/robe with gold trim. It is worn with age, and still an intricate example of the kind of costumes made for movies in the golden age.
