Screen worn, very beautiful infantry officer uniform for one of the Mexican soldiers appearing in The Alamo (1960). The film was directed by John Wayne, who also starred, and depicted the titanic struggle between Texans, including Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie, and the numerically superior Mexican army of Santa Anna at the 1836 Battle of the Alamo. This uniform features a red tunic with a blue collar, blue and white shoulder pieces, tan pants and has stamps for both Western Costume Company and Republic Pictures on the inside lining of the tunic. The Alamo was one of Wayne's most personal films and memorabilia from it is quite scarce, making this a true treasure for any Wayne or Western fan!
