Ray Bolger Screen Worn Tuxedo

Unique tuxedo costume worn by Tony Award-winning actor/dancer Ray Bolger, most famous as the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz (1939). The top of this ensemble is in the form of a black tuxedo jacket with attached frontal white piece to suggest a shirt and button-on white bow tie and white collar. Includes a United Costumers label with Bolger's name handwritten on it alongside a production number of 231. Further includes detachable tails, most likely for a stage trick. The pants have a stiffener going down both legs to make them stick out like jodhpurs. Suspenders are attached. Bolger's films include Four Jacks and a Jill, April in Paris and Babes in Toyland, wherein he played the villainous Barnaby Barnacle.
