Gibson Gowland period costume consisting of a blue jacket with white trim and ornate buttons and a pair of matching blue velvet pants. An inner tag on the jacket indicates "Gibson Gowland, Servant, 40 - 36". The pants have a handwritten inner tag reading "PAR 7 097907". British-born Gowland was a prolific silent movie actor most famous as the evil McTeague in Greed (1924) and as Simon Buquet in Lon Chaney's Phantom of the Opera (1925).
