Becket (1964) - This is Thomas Becket's (Richard Burton) 3-piece silk, pearl and gold bullion tunic, cape and collar. Designed by Margaret Furse. The cape is made of elaborate, pearl and bullion accented and embroidered champagne. Cape is worn over heavy sand colored jacquard tunic with gold bullion and cross pattern raised embroidery, with matching collar. Screen worn during his annunciation to Archbishop of the Church of England. The costume was constructed by Berman & Nathans, London, with their label inside cape typed "chausable" and a simple label in the tunic marked "3/5, 11/11". One production worn spot in the neck embroidery of the cape, with a few scattered minor stains. Includes the headress worn by Donald Wolfit as Bishop Folliot for the same scenes.
