How the Grinch Stole Christmas – Veronica Baker Whoville Foam Latex Head Appliance - H4-59
An extraordinary original foam latex Whoville head appliance custom-made for Veronica Baker, daughter of legendary makeup artist Rick Baker, for use in Ron Howard’s holiday masterpiece Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000). Expertly crafted by Rick Baker’s multi–Academy Award-winning makeup team, this delicate appliance was designed to transform the wearer into one of Whoville’s whimsical residents. The piece is made of soft pink-toned foam latex with a hand-punched pink hairpiece styled in the distinctive Whoville curl. The interior is lined with a thin layer of comfort foam, and a rear slit allowed the performer to don it easily during production. This appliance is displayed on a foam lifecast of Veronica Baker, used in the makeup department to sculpt and fit the prosthetic precisely. While the foam has become brittle with some flaking and separation around the nose, eyes, and mouth, it remains an impressive and rare artifact from the creation of the film’s Oscar-winning makeup design. Measures 13” x 8.5” x 6.5”.
The item(s) may exhibit varying levels of wear and studio distressing, as detailed in the listing images that provide an accurate representation of the condition.
