A prop hanger acquired for use in Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat (Universal Pictures, 2003), starring Mike Myers as the mischievous feline. Crafted from sturdy wood and painted a muted green with a glossy finish, this oversized hanger measures approximately 18" x 10.5" x 3" and was designed with the exaggerated, cartoonish proportions that defined the film’s Seussian aesthetic. Hangers of this distinctive style appear during one of the movie’s most memorable comedic moments, when the Cat mischievously hangs Mrs. Kwan in a closet. This prop captures the playful absurdity and vibrant design language that made The Cat in the Hat a live-action visual spectacle. It reflects the production’s careful attention to detail, blending practical effects and stylized set dressing to bring Dr. Seuss’ world to life. A fun and instantly recognizable piece from the Cat’s wacky world, representing the colorful chaos of Seussian imagination realized on screen.
