How the Grinch Stole Christmas – Prop Whoville Radio - H4-51

A radio prop created for use as trash set dressing in the Mt. Crumpit dump from Ron Howard’s Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000). This Seussian-styled piece reflects the imaginative production design that helped define the film’s eccentric, handcrafted world. Made of foam rubber, the prop features the distinctive curvy, exaggerated form language of Dr. Seuss’ artwork and measures approximately 13” x 7.25” x 4”. This particular piece is an unfinished version of the radio seen in the film used by Lacey Kohl as “Christina Whoberry” during the scene when the Whos trek up to Mt. Crumpit. The prop retains its original studio distressing, paint aging, and simulated wear, giving it the convincingly “discarded” appearance fitting the Grinch’s mountain of misfit refuse. Beautifully sculpted and rich with screen-used texture, this piece is a standout example of the film’s remarkable art direction, where even the garbage looked straight out of a storybook. A rare and characterful artifact from the film’s unforgettable world of Whoville and beyond, a true piece of Seussian movie magic.

The item(s) may exhibit varying levels of wear and studio distressing, as detailed in the listing images that provide an accurate representation of the condition.
